PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE

Happy New Year and Best wishes for a successful 2010!!!!!  I am so excited about this coming year.  I will be serving as President of the Council of State Association Presidents and our May meeting will be in my hometown, San Antonio, Texas!!!  The Texas Speech-Language-Hearing Association (TSHA) is pleased to be able to host CSAP and pleased that the CSAP meeting will be in the jewel of our state, San Antonio, the seventh largest city in the country.  But in Texas, it is the size of its heart that matters more than the size of its population!  And you will find our Texas-sized hearts open.

San Antonio is a city rich in history!  And we will be meeting in the historic Menger Hotel which is next door to the symbol of freedom, the Alamo.  As CSAP holds fast to its traditions and culture, we will enjoy a city that personifies that ability to keep what is good and valuable during inevitable change and growth.  We will participate in different formats during our meetings but will enjoy the CSAP traditions that keep state leaders coming back year after year.  Our socials will retain the flavor of fun and camaraderie.  Most importantly, the opportunity to share our successes and challenges will stay at the forefront of what makes CSAP a valuable resource.  We will hear from acknowledged leaders and learn innovative ways to keep our state associations energized and vital.  As technology changes, CSAP will learn to utilize what is time saving and as social networking continues to become more a part of the business world, CSAP will continue to consider this new resource.

In November, CSAP leaders will meet in another historic city, Philadelphia.  Again, another city which has become synonymous with freedom!   There seems to be a theme for 2010: history and freedom!  And CSAP fits comfortably into this theme!  Join us this year in both of these great cities as we continue to refine our leadership skills in CSAP!  Mark your calendars now and save these dates as great leaders from all over the United States convene to meet and learn and connect!  Remember!  CSAP is where leaders meet!
