The mission of CSAP is to:

  • provide leadership training for state Speech-Language-Hearing association presidents.
  • be a forum for collaboration and networking among these leaders.
  • promote communication of professional matters between state Speech Language Hearing. associations, ASHA and other related national professional organizations.

Judith P. Keller (Judi as she is known to dear friends) is a speech-language pathologist and Assistant Professor at the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in Lubbock, Texas, where she teaches and works primarily with people who stutter. She is the current past-president of the Texas Speech-Language-Hearing Association. She is married to Chuck who is a Clinical Psychologist in private practice. They have two grown sons. Judi and Chuck love to travel and have been to many interesting places abroad and statewide. Judi also loves to cook, garden, read and entertain.

Carol, ArkSHA President; is a speech language pathologist working at Pulaski Heights Middle School within the Little Rock School District in Arkansas.  She is known as the "Butter Queen" and "Cake Lady" to her family, friends, and colleagues.  She loves to cook and makes many birthday and holiday goodies for all.  Carol is passionate about advocacy, leadership, and professional issues impacting speech, language, and hearing intervention and prevention.  She is married to Eric and is the mother of three teenagers - Amber and twins, Josh and Jack.

Sherry is 2010 CSAP President whose professional passions include dysphagia, advocacy, leadership, supervision, and aphasia. She works in acute care at Nash Healthcare Systems in Rocky Mount NC and is the proud mother of Eden, 7, and Gemma, 5.

Ashley is a speech-language pathologist and Program Director for the Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) program at Chemeketa Community College in Salem, Oregon. Ashley also consults with school districts with a few private practice clients mixed in here and there. She is a past president of the Oregon Speech-Language Hearing Association. Ashley has been serving on the Oregon Board of Examiners for Speech Pathology and Audiology for the past 5 years. She currently serves as Board Chair. Ashley has 2 children ages 5 and 8, as well as a very supportive husband who works for Intel. In her spare time, Ashley likes to read, travel and care for a vegetable and herb garden.

Erica is a speech-language pathologist in Macon, Georgia where she enjoys working with clients of all ages with various disorders.  Her passion is working with patients of all ages with dysphagia.  She is the current president of the Georgia Speech-Language-Hearing Association.  Erica is married to Daniel who is an electrical engineer in electronic warfare at Robins Air Force Base.  They are expecting their first child, a boy, in April 2010.    Erica loves college football (GO DAWGS!), shopping, working out, and spending time with friends and family!

Molly is a speech-language pathologist with a pediatric private practice in Anchorage and current past-president of AKSHA.  Work interests include leaning disabilities, childhood apraxia and dysarthria, Down syndrome and presenting on these topics. Molly is known for being a computer and Star Wars geek, having great toys and has a not-so- secret chocolate stash (which requires a great deal of exercise). Both her kids, Mike and Stephanie are officially adults. She is enjoying this time with husband Steve.

Carlotta, also know as "Carlie", is a speech-language pathologist and Assistant Professor at the University of Central Missouri Department of Communication Disorders, Warrensburg, Missouri. Her research interests are service delivery to culturally and linguistically diverse, foreign accent reduction, and early intervention. She is the current president-elect of the Missouri Speech-Language-Hearing Association. She has two married daughters and five grandchildren. Her youngest granddaughter is named Carlotta and called "Carlie" also. She loves to travel the Caribbean and Europe and enjoys Bible study.

CSAP Tips

Looking to get the most out of CSAP? We thought you might be interested in some tips from current and past members:

  • Be ready to "open up and share."
  • Get as much information as possible from previous CSAP members.
  • Don’t be shy… Introduce yourself and network. Join groups for lunch and dinner.
  • Follow up on connections by communicating after the meeting.
  • Volunteer; join in. Be a participant instead of a spectator.
  • Even if it’s your first time, everybody brings something. Don’t forget to share it!
  • Before leaving for CSAP, take time to prioritize the information you want to gather.
  • Interact with new people and people from other states.
  • CSAP will empower you to be a need responsive leader and servant in your state Association, and at the same time empower others to lead and serve.
